Kolagen adalah protein utama dalam pembentukan jaringan kulit. Produksi kolagen dapat menurun seiring bertambahnya usia dan paparan radikal bebas. Menurut jurnal<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asupan vitamin C dapat menurunkan tekanan darah sistolik sebesar 4,9 mmHg dan diastolik sebesar 1,7 mmHg.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Mencegah kekurangan zat besi<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vitamin C dapat membantu tubuh dalam menyerap zat besi dari sumber makanan. Zat besi sendiri berfungsi untuk membentuk sel darah merah dan membawa oksigen ke tubuh. Seperti yang telah dipaparkan di poin pertama, vitamin C dapat membantu pembentukan kolagen. Terdapat riset dalam jurnal <em>Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews<\/em>, membuktikan bahwa vitamin C memiliki potensi memperlambat timbulnya katarak. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riset lain dalam jurnal yang sama juga mengungkapkan bahwa vitamin C dapat membantu mengurangi resiko degenerasi makula. Penyakit ini dapat muncul saat makula mengalami kerusakan. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dengan sederet manfaat yang dimiliki vitamin C, kita dianjurkan untuk mengkonsumsi vitamin C setiap harinya.
