SURABAYA (Lenteratoday) – Ciputra University (UC) Surabaya is determined to provide international standard higher education, with the construction of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) buildings.
The Executive Board Secretary of the Ciputra Education Foundation, Prof. Dr Ir. Denny Bernardus, M.M., stated that the construction of the UC Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry buildings is a strategic step in establishing an internationally recognised higher education institution in the healthcare sector.
“So, we are preparing new buildings for the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry for a total of approximately 500 students. The new buildings will certainly increase the student quota,” said Prof. Denny at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry buildings on Wednesday (February 5, 2025).
Prof. Denny explained that the 11-story UC Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry buildings, situated on a 21,750-square-meter plot, will be equipped with modern facilities, advanced laboratories, and cutting-edge medical equipment. These include laboratories for microbiology, parasitology, anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, and a medical simulation laboratory.
“The Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University will become centres of excellence in education, producing competent and innovative professional medical personnel,” he explained.
Furthermore, the university will also provide scholarships totalling Rp 2.5 billion for high-achieving students and aspiring doctors studying at Ciputra University’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
“We will divide the Rp 2.5 billion scholarship into various packages, based on the prospective student’s achievements. It depends on the prospective student’s test results at both the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The goal is to expand access to expensive medical education. This scholarship is for all high-achieving Indonesian students,” he said.
On the same occasion, UC Rector, Ir. Yohannes Somawiharja, M.Sc., expressed his hope that the construction of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry buildings would allow students to study safely and comfortably.
