TIMESINDONESIA, SURABAYA – In order to welcome Ramadan and support the government’s program regarding free health checks (PKG), the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Ciputra University (UC) Surabaya held a Batsal (Mass Treatment) activity.
This activity, initiated by Dr. Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., along with Drg. Eveline Yulia Darmadi, Sp.KG., a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University, demonstrates the Ciputra University academic community’s commitment to public health.
“This event will take place at the Randegansari Village Hall, Gresik, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM WIB, and is targeted to serve 80 residents,” said Dr. Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., on Sunday (February 23, 2025).
Some of the Batsal activities include general health and dental checkups; mass medical treatment services, including medical consultations and medication administration; and the provision of medications, such as oral, eye, and topical preparations, for minor ailments.
“If a case is found requiring further treatment, the patient will be referred to the hospital. Minor procedures, such as minor surgery, will be performed on-site,” explained Dr. Denys.
Furthermore, it is hoped that this Batsal activity will continue to be a regular event that benefits the wider community, providing tangible benefits by raising awareness of the importance of disease prevention and maintaining dental and oral health.
“Furthermore, for the participating FK and FKG students, this activity provides Early Clinical Exposure, allowing them to interact directly with patients under the guidance of alumni and supervision of lecturers,” he hoped.
Wasi’ah, a Radengansari resident, expressed her delight at participating in the Batsal activity initiated by Ciputra University. “I’m happy to be able to get checked and receive free medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on how to follow it during the fast. I also had my eyes checked,” the 51-year-old woman concluded. (*)
