Using Social Media for Product Branding Strategy, Ciputra University’s Faculty of Computer Science Presents International Guest Lecturer
INDOZONE.ID – In an effort to broaden students’ horizons and improve their competitiveness at the global level, the Faculty of Communication and Media Business (FIKOM) of Ciputra University presented an international guest lecturer, Dr. Sarah Keith from Macquarie University, Australia, in a guest lecture entitled Utilizing of Social Media for Product Branding Strategy.
The guest lecture, held on April 24, 2025, addressed the importance of using social media in product branding, a highly relevant topic in today’s digital age.
Dr. Keith shared his in-depth understanding of how platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube can be leveraged by brands to build identities, create strong narratives, and reach consumers in a more personal and interactive way.
The two-hour lecture was enthusiastically attended by dozens of students from various study programs at the Faculty of Computer Science (FIKOM).
They not only listened to the material but also actively discussed the dynamics of brand communication in the digital realm, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing the global industry today.
The lecturer in charge of Strategic Brand Communication, Cosmas Gatot Haryono, stated that the presence of international guest lecturers is part of a globally oriented learning strategy.
“We hope students will have a more global understanding and approach in studying branding by utilising social media. We hope that the knowledge sharing from lecturers from abroad will enrich students’ perspectives,” he said.
This activity is part of Ciputra University’s commitment to integrating international perspectives into the curriculum, while equipping students with a relevant understanding of current communications and marketing industry trends.
