UC Students Create App for Choosing Skincare

January 29, 2025

SURABAYA – Three Information Systems students from Ciputra University (UC), Jocelyn Jolie, Putu Diahloka Mahaputri, and Cecilia Agusta Leo, created the Skinceria app. The app is designed to make it easier for people to choose skincare based on their skin type and budget.

Before designing the app, the three collected data on the benefits, advantages, and prices of local skincare products. They collected data on 150 products. This information was then uploaded to the Skinceria app.

According to Jocelyn, Skinceria is easy to use. First, users must enter their skin type, age, and any skin concerns. They are then asked to select the three skincare products they use most frequently or need most from the five available products. In the final step, users must enter their budget for purchasing the skincare. “Then the data will appear, including the type, price, and benefits of the skincare for the skin,” she explained.

Jocelyn’s colleague, Putu Diahloka Mahaputri, added that Skinceria was created as a guide for people choosing skincare products. Currently, there are many skincare products on the market. “The app can be useful for curating skincare needs according to your budget,” said the student, known as Putri. (ama/aph)
