Ciputra Education Builds New Medical and High School Facilities in Surabaya
February 5, 2025
SURYA.CO.ID, SURABAYA – Ciputra Education is building two new educational facilities in Citraland Surabaya.
These include the construction of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Ciputra University (UC), as well as the completion of the final stages of construction of the Ciputra Kasih School High School (SCK).
Ciputra Education Executive Board Member, Prof. Dr Ir. Denny Bernardus, M.M., stated that the construction of the UC Faculty of Medicine and FKG is a strategic step towards establishing an internationally recognised higher education institution in the healthcare sector.
In addition, the Ciputra Group is providing scholarships totalling IDR 2.5 billion to outstanding prospective doctors studying at the Faculty of Medicine and FKG at Ciputra University.
“With modern facilities, advanced laboratories, and cutting-edge medical equipment, the UC Faculty of Medicine and FKG will become centres of excellence in producing competent and innovative medical professionals,” said Denny after the groundbreaking ceremony for the Faculty of Medicine and FKG Campus and the topping off ceremony for the SCK Citraland High School on Wednesday (February 5, 2025).
Meanwhile, construction of the new SCK High School building is underway in the Northwest area of North Citraland.
Spanning 6,800 square meters, the building is designed to foster a learning environment that develops critical thinking, leadership, and global perspectives in students.
“This high school building is equipped with laboratories, modern classrooms, a hall, a music room, a sports room, and a visual arts room. We hope these facilities will create an inspiring and innovative learning environment grounded in the values of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship,” added Denny.
Ciputra Kasih School General Manager Fenny Sukamto added that the new building will open to high school students in April.
“With the limited capacity of the old building, it will be used for elementary and junior high school. This will allow the school to increase its capacity to accept new students at all levels of education,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Ciputra University, Prof. Ir. Yohannes, explained that the new Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry buildings will function as life science laboratories. Meanwhile, the old building will focus on social sciences.
“We feel the main campus doesn’t have enough space for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, even though it already has 6,000 square meters. With the addition of new facilities, the student quota for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry will increase from the current 500,” he explained.
