Surabaya (ANTARA) – Ciputra Education built two new facilities for medical education, namely the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Ciputra University, as well as completing the final stages of the construction of the Ciputra Kasih High School in Citraland Surabaya.

Ciputra Education Executive Board Member, Prof. Dr Ir. Denny Bernardus, M.M., stated in Surabaya on Wednesday that the construction of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University is a strategic step towards establishing an internationally recognised higher education institution in the healthcare sector.

In addition, the Ciputra Group is providing scholarships totalling Rp 2.5 billion to outstanding prospective doctors studying at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University.

“With modern facilities, advanced laboratories, and cutting-edge medical equipment, the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University will become centres of excellence in producing competent and innovative medical professionals,” said Denny.

Meanwhile, Ciputra Kasih School continues to expand with the construction of a new high school building in the Northwest Citraland area.

Spanning 6,800 square meters, the building is designed to foster a learning environment that develops critical thinking, leadership, and a global perspective for students.

“This high school building is equipped with laboratories, modern classrooms, a hall, a music room, a sports room, and a visual arts room. We hope these facilities will create an inspiring and innovative learning environment, grounded in the values of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship,” added Denny.

The General Manager of Ciputra Kasih School, Fenny Sukamto, added that the new building will be open for use next April for high school students.

Due to the old building’s limited capacity, it will eventually be used for elementary and junior high school classes. This will allow the school to increase its capacity for new student intake at all levels of education.

The Rector of Ciputra University, Prof. Ir. Yohannes, explained that the new Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry buildings will function as life science laboratories. Meanwhile, the old building will focus on social sciences, biomedicine, and other related fields.

“We feel the main campus doesn’t have enough space for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, even though it already has 6,000 square meters. With the addition of new facilities, the student quota for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry will increase from the current 500,” he said.
