Ciputra University Expands International Network in the Philippines through Sandwich Program
DetikNTT.Com || Manila – A group of Ciputra University PhD students visited the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, Philippines, located at 185 Salcedo, Legazpi Village, Makati, 1229 Kalakhang Maynila in Metro Manila.
The group of PhD students was accompanied by the Vice Rector of Ciputra University, Professor Christina Whidya Utami, and their supervisor, Dr Liliana Dewi. A total of 17 students were present in Manila, including the Chairman of the NTT Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Mr Bobby Lianto. During the visit, the group was received by the Education and Cultural Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, Prof. Nina Yulianti, S.P., M.Sc., PhD. Accompanied by the bilateral staff coordinator for education and culture, Mr Anugrah Pangestu, and Professor Whidya Utami, the team explained the program implemented in collaboration between Ciputra University and the University of the East (UE) in the Philippines. He explained that the program is called the “Sandwich Program,” a program that allows students to spend part of their time studying at another university abroad.
Through this 3-day program from April 24-26, Ciputra University students will attend several classes with several reliable speakers in their fields through 2 batches (two groups), namely batch 4 and 5, with a total of 30 students. On the first day, each class will be given material on “Globalisation and digital platforms, blockchain power business intelligence and Multi-challenge and omnichannel strategy in marketing communication research.” Then on the second day, material will be given on “Culture and contextual diversity, Business and government relations and business culture heritage and art.” And while on the third day, the international research conference ue kamaynilaan was held with keynote speaker Hety Ketrin Elfong, under secretary of the Department of Finance. In the meeting, the Education and Culture Attaché accepted and supported what was carried out in collaboration between Ciputra University (UC) and the University of the East (UE). This program will certainly provide these doctoral students with global insights and different experiences abroad.
Interestingly, the doctoral students attending the Philippines are generally practitioners and professionals already active in the professional world and academia. The Indonesian Embassy welcomes and supports this collaboration, and hopes it will continue successfully. The final day of the event will also see the signing of an MoU between the two universities. The signing will be attended by the President & Chief Academic Officer of UE, Dr Zosino M. Battad, Chancellor Lovie Divingraci, and Dr Alberto T. Paala Jr. (Dean). Students from various countries will also be present. The MoU signing will be witnessed by the education and cultural attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Indonesia.
