This activity was initiated by Dr Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., a lecturer at the UC Faculty of Medicine, and Dr Eveline Yulia Darmadi, Sp.KG., a lecturer at the UC Faculty of Dentistry.
With the support of doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni, and medical and dental students, this event aims to provide quality medical services to the community, especially ahead of Ramadan.
Services Provided
Batsal covers a variety of medical services, including:
1. General health and dental checkups – Includes blood pressure checks, blood sugar levels, and dental and oral health checks.
2. Mass treatment – Free medical consultations and medication distribution.
3. Provision of medications – Includes oral medications, eye drops, and topical medications for minor ailments.
4. Minor medical procedures – Minor surgeries that can be performed on-site.
5. Patient referrals – For those requiring further treatment at the hospital.
Resident Enthusiasm and Benefits for Students
This Batsal aims to serve 80 Randegansari residents. This activity not only benefits the community but also provides initial clinical experience for Ciputra University’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry students.
With direct guidance from alumni and lecturers, students have the opportunity to interact directly with patients.
One resident, Mrs Wasi’ah (51), felt greatly helped by the free medical treatment.
“I’m happy to be able to get a check-up and receive free medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on how to follow it during my fast. I also had my eyes checked,” she said.
Thorough Preparation for Maximum Service
Preparations for the Batsal have been underway for three months, including field surveys, coordination with village officials, and identification of endemic diseases to ensure the availability of medicines appropriate to the community’s needs.
With a spirit of collaboration and concern, the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University hope that the Batsal activity will continue to be an annual event that provides broad benefits to the community.
It is hoped that this program will further raise awareness of the importance of health and strengthen the relationship between academics and the community.***
