ENROLLMENT INCREASES: Ciputra University (UC) students discuss after class, UC Food Technology program interest reaches 70 per cent

SURABAYA – Several private universities opened registration for new students in the middle of last year. Enrollment has been quite high. In fact, some departments are almost full.

Ciputra University (UC) Head of Marketing and Admissions for Undergraduate Programs, Bobby Iswandi, stated that his campus’s quota is almost full, such as in the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) and the Food Technology program. “There are only two seats left in FKG, while there is only one seat left in Food Technology,” he said.

According to Bobby, interest in the Food Technology program has increased by 70 per cent. If the number of applicants continues to increase, he said, the university will reopen registration for the next wave.

Registration for the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) account opened last Monday (January 13th). Surabaya State University (Unesa) has begun promoting new student admissions.

Dr Sukarmin, MPd, Head of the Unesa Student Admissions and Graduation Sub-Directorate, explained that student account registration is now open. He hopes students will register immediately and check their school accounts, although the registration period closes on February 18th. “Last year, when prospective participants wanted to open an account, it turned out their school didn’t have one. If the deadline is exceeded, a school may not participate in the SNBP,” he explained.

Sukarmin also reminded participants not to choose a study program randomly through the SNBP pathway. This is because each student has the opportunity to choose two study programs. One of the chosen programs must be located in the prospective student’s province of residence. For example, applicants from East Java must choose one study program on the East Java campus. The other can be outside of East Java. “However, if you want to use only one option, it can be outside or within your respective province,” he explained. (ama/aph)
