Gresik Residents Receive Free Examination and Treatment from UC Surabaya

Gresik, mili.id – Free examinations and treatment were held by Ciputra University (UC) Surabaya at Randegansari Village Hall, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency.

This social activity at UC Surabaya, held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., involved students and lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG). Western Indonesian Time.

This activity was initiated by Denys Putra Alim, a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at UC, and Drg. Eveline Yulia Darmadi.

Denys stated that this activity, which provides free healthcare and medical treatment to the community, aims to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

“We are involving doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as medical and dental students. This event is a concrete manifestation of the Ciputra University academic community’s concern for public health,” explained Denys.

Meanwhile, Eveline stated that this mass medical treatment is expected to provide tangible benefits to the community by raising awareness of the importance of disease prevention and maintaining dental and oral health.

“Furthermore, for the participating Medical Faculty and Dentistry students, this activity provides Early Clinical Exposure, allowing them to interact directly with patients under the guidance of alumni and supervision of lecturers,” he explained.

Local resident Wasi’ah (51) expressed her delight at receiving the free examination. She received medication after undergoing a series of examinations conducted by the students, accompanied directly by the lecturer.

“I’m happy to be able to get the examination and receive the free medication. I have diabetes, and I received the medication and instructions on how to follow it during fasting. I also had my eyes checked,” she said.

For your information, this activity is part of UC Surabaya’s effort to support the Free Health Check program. The activity targets 80 people and is held annually.

Before the event, UC took a series of steps over the previous three months, including field surveys, coordination with relevant parties, location mapping, and identification of endemic diseases to ensure the availability of needed medications.

The series of UC Surabaya mass medical treatment activities at the Randegansari Village Hall this time included general health and dental checkups for the community.

Then, mass treatment includes medical consultation services and medication administration. It also provides medications such as oral medications, eye drops, and topical medications for minor ailments.

If a case requires further treatment, the patient will be referred to a hospital. Minor procedures, such as minor surgery, will be performed on-site.
