KILASJATIM.COM, SURABAYA – Reminding the importance of health, while supporting the government program regarding free health checks and increasing public awareness of the importance of health, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Ciputra University (UC), Sunday (23/2/2025) held a mass medical treatment at the Randegansari Village Hall, Gersik.
The activity, initiated by Dr. Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (UC), and Drg. Eveline Yulia Darmadi, Sp.KG., a lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry (UC), aims to provide free healthcare and medical treatment to the community, especially in preparation for the month of Ramadan. Involving doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni of the Faculty, and medical and dental students, this activity demonstrates the commitment of the Ciputra University academic community to public health.
The Batsal (Mass Treatment) program includes general health and dental checkups for the community, mass treatment including medical consultations, and the distribution of medications. Oral medications, eye drops, and topical agents are provided for minor ailments. If further treatment is needed, patients will be referred to a hospital. Minor procedures, such as minor surgery, will be performed on-site.
This Batsal program is expected to provide tangible benefits to the community by raising awareness of the importance of disease prevention and maintaining dental and oral health. Furthermore, for the participating Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry students, this activity provided Early Clinical Exposure, allowing them to interact directly with patients under the guidance of alumni and supervision of lecturers.
As part of the annual program of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Ciputra University, this activity aimed to serve 80 residents of Randegansari Village, Gersik. Preparations took three months and involved a series of steps, including field surveys, coordination with relevant parties, location mapping, and identification of endemic diseases to ensure the availability of necessary medications. Mrs. Wasi’ah (51), a resident of Radengansari, expressed her delight at participating in the free checkup. “I’m happy to be able to get checked and receive free medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on how to follow it during my fast. I also had my eyes checked,” she explained.
