February 23, 2025

Gresik, Mili.id – Ciputra University (UC) Surabaya held free checkups and treatment at the Randegansari Village Hall, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency.

This UC Surabaya social activity involved students and lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) on Sunday (February 23, 2025) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. WIB.

This activity was initiated by lecturers from the UC Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Denys Putra Alim and Dr Eveline Yulia Darmadi.

Denys stated that this activity, which provides free health services and treatment to the community, aims to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

We involved doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, and medical and dental students. This event is a tangible manifestation of the Ciputra University academic community’s commitment to public health,” explained Denys.

Meanwhile, according to Eveline, this mass medical treatment is expected to provide tangible benefits to the community by raising awareness of the importance of disease prevention and maintaining dental and oral health.

“Furthermore, for the participating Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry students, this activity provides Early Clinical Exposure, allowing them to interact directly with patients under the guidance of alumni and the supervision of lecturers,” she explained.

Local resident Wasi’ah (51) expressed her delight at receiving the free examination. She received medication after undergoing a series of examinations by the students, who were directly supervised by the lecturer.

“I’m happy to be able to get the free examination and medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on how to follow it during the fast. I also had my eyes checked,” she said.

For your information, this activity is part of UC Surabaya’s effort to support the Free Health Check program. The activity targets 80 people and is held annually.

Prior to the event, UC Surabaya took several steps over the previous three months, including field surveys, coordination with relevant parties, location mapping, and identification of endemic diseases, to ensure the availability of necessary medications.

This year’s UC Surabaya mass medical treatment program at the Randegansari Village Hall included general health and dental checkups for the community.

The mass medical treatment included medical consultations and medication distribution. Oral medications, eye drops, and other topical medications were also provided for minor ailments.

If further treatment is needed, patients will be referred to a hospital. Minor procedures, such as minor surgery, will be performed on-site.
