Ciputra University Holds Free Medical Treatment in Randegansari, Gresik

Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – The Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Ciputra University held a free mass medical treatment (Batsal) at the Randegansari Village Hall, Gresik, on Sunday (2/23/2025).

This initiative was initiated by lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Ciputra University, Dr Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., and Dr Eveline Yulia Darmadi, Sp.KG. The Batsal aims to improve access to healthcare services for the community, especially ahead of the month of Ramadan.

This activity involved doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni, and medical and dental students. Services provided included general health and dental examinations, medical consultations, and the provision of medications for minor ailments (oral, eye drops, and topical medications).

“Then, referrals to the hospital for cases requiring further treatment, and minor medical procedures, such as minor surgery, are performed on-site,” said Dr Denys.

Batsal is expected to raise public awareness of the importance of disease prevention and dental and oral health. For students, this activity provides an opportunity for early clinical exposure under the guidance of lecturers and alumni.

This annual event, held by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Ciputra University, targets 80 residents of Randegansari Village. The three-month preparation process included field surveys, coordination, location mapping, and identification of endemic diseases to ensure medication availability.

One participant, Mrs Wasi’ah (51), expressed satisfaction with the service she received. “I’m happy to be able to get a free check-up and receive free medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on fasting. I also had an eye examination,” she said.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Ciputra University is committed to making Batsal a regular event to improve community welfare. [ipl/but]
