Masyarakat Tionghoa percaya bahwa mendatangkan barongsai saat Imlek akan mengusir roh-roh jahat dan mendatangkan hoki.<\/p>\n<p>Tarian singa tersebut masuk ke Indonesia pada abad ke-17. Kehadirannya di Indonesia mampu memberikan warna lain pada seni budaya Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Perjalanan barongsai di Indonesia pun pasang-surut. Meskipun begitu, tarian itu adalah salah satu kesenian yang masih bertahan hingga saat ini. Itu karena barongsai mampu berasimilasi dengan aspek sosial dan kebudayaan lokal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The \u00a0Origin \u00a0of \u00a0Barongsai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ADA <\/strong>banyak versi cerita legenda mengenai asal-usul barongsai. Namun, cerita yang paling umum dan paling mendekati adalah cerita tentang monster yang menggangu sebuah desa. Cerita berawal dari singa pemberian raja Persia kepada kaisar Tiongkok pada dinasti Dang. Binatang gagah tersebut menjadi kesayangan sang kaisar hingga rakyat menghormati dan percaya bahwa singa tersebut mampu mengusir roh jahat dan tolak bala.<\/p>\n<p>Sayangnya, singa itu mendadak mati hingga pawang-pawang kebingungan. Untuk menghibur kaisar, para guru silat, musik, dan senirupa saling bekerja sama dalam menciptakan bentuk singa yang beragam. Pada Imlek di buat tarian singa yang di mainkan oleh dua orang dengan iringan tambor, kenong, dan simbal. Tradisi itu berlangsung hingga saat ini.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0 Anatomy\u00a0 of\u00a0 Barongsai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TARIAN<\/strong> barongsai biasanya di mainkan oleh dua orang, masing-masing pada kepala dan ekor. Mereka menggunakan celana yang bermotif sama dengan warna barongsai. Setiap pemain barongsai juga melingkarkan tali pada pinggangnya. Salah satunya pita yang terdapat pada kepala barongsai. Pita pada kepala barongsai melambangkan bahwa ia telah dijinakkan atau sedang tidur.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu ada pula cermin yang melekat pada kepala barongsai. Apa fungsi cermin tersebut? Menurut kepercatyaan masyarakat Tiongkok, cermin yang ada pada kepala barongsai tersebut berfungsi untuk mengusir roh-roh jahat dan sifat-sifat buruk. Bentuk <em>da tou wa wa <\/em>bermacam-macam, mulai biksu, kera sakti, hingga perempuan.<\/p>\n<p>Beberapa orang mungkin menganggapnya sebagai biksu yang menjunakkan barongsai. Namun sebenarnya fungsi dari <em>da tou wa wa <\/em>disini adalah pendamping barongsai. Terkadang ia berperan sebagai pemandu barongsai hingga membuka jalan untuk barongsai.<\/p>\n<p>Ada juga objek yang di tuju oleh barongsai yang di sebut dengan <em>cheng.<\/em> Ada macam-macam objek, mulai nanas, selada sampai jeruk.
