Starting business from the time she was in high school, Anita became addicted to entrepreneurship, striving until she was able to open her own boutique in 2002.

Since childhood, a creative Anita was fond of creating artwork that could generate additional pocket money. It is no surprise that when she was in Tarakanita High School, where all of students were female. Anita felt challenged to create a product that she could sell to her classmates.

At the time, there was the possibility of a t-shirt being produced and marketed to the school. Apparently, the result was not so bad – just enough to pay for her needs. Then after college, while working in a private company, Anita was inspired by a friend. Renate Tombokan, to finally open her first boutique, in 2002. The small business she built with very limited funds and without asking for any help from her family, provided many valuable lessons for Anita. “I’ve gone through a lot of difficult times, but I know that God walked beside me and helped me through these hard time,” she said.

Wanting to develop entrepreneurial ability and exploring her own talents was Anita’s main goal when she braced herself to open Nit’z Boutique. “In addition, I also wanted the teenagers of Indonesia to be able to look fashionable and up-to-date at an affordable price,” she commented. Anita also added that she had been in a position where she wanted to appear fashionable but did not have enough money. So as much as possible she tried to create a product with good quality but at a friendly price.

“Therefore, I wanted teenagers to have access to a style that they wanted in accordance with their own character but within their budget. As adolescence is an age when they can explore themselves, and cherish many dreams and desires, they still have a great passion to achieve what they want. Anita has a characteristic boutique that is colourful. At Nit’z customers can get a variety of colors – whatever they desire. “Because every person has his/her own character and favorite color,” she said.

“Well at NIT’Z Boutique, we provide a variety of colors ranging from clothes, pants, bags and accessories, so you can choose your own color,” explained the woman born in Jakarta on October 25, 1980.

To expand the market, Anita also opened a new boutique, namely Nit’z Kidz. Nit’z Kidz products are prioritized for customers from  infancy until approximately 13 years of age.

“So, it is my hope in the future that hopefully Nit’z can reach all levels of society, from infants to the elderly, both domestically and internationally,” she said.

Various hindrances in the business were also experienced by this Tarakanita Secretariat Academy and Mercu Buana University graduate, such as endless competitors and other constraints such as cashflow problems, consumer complaints, employees, and so forth.

“I really love what I do. Unfortunately , sometimes, it’s difficult to stay motivated when problem arise. My philosophy is ‘Never Give Up, learn from mistakes, take positive out of negative situations, find solutions and keep moving. Don’t forget to keep dreaming, have self-discipline and especially, don’t forget God in pursuing your dreams’,” she concluded. (I0-04)
