Djaprie, psikolog klinis dewasa dari Sanatorium Dharmawangsa, menyebut kesehatan mental sangatlah penting. Namun, hal itu sering terabaikan. \u201cKita ini <em>mind, body and soul <\/em>harus selaras,\u201d ucapnya. Permasalahannya, di kalangan masyarakat urban, orang sering lupa. Sibuk bekerja, pikiran aktif namun tidak pernah olahraga, dan tidak merasa bahagia. \u201cAkibatnya, seperti satu tubuh, tapi terpecah-pecah,\u201d lanjutnya.<\/p>\n<p>Kesehatan mental memang abstrak. Kalua terluka badan, missal tergores, berdarah, terlihat nyata sehingga lebih cepat diobati. \u201cKalau yang terluka jiwa, saking abstraknya, kita sering kali <em>nggak ngeh,\u201d<\/em> kata Liza. Apalagi, lanjut dia, orang dengan kesadaran diri rendah. Ada penyangkalan-peyangkalan yang mengakibatkan kesehatan mental itu semakin terabaikan.<\/p>\n<p>Depresi bisa terjadi pada siapa saja. Pada orang dengan tantangan hidup yang semakin besar, makin muda pula dia bisa terserang depresi. Anak SD saja sudah mengalami depresi. Liza menduga, orang tuanya mungkin sibuk menyelesaikan tantangan hidup dan lupa mendampingi anak. Padahal, tuntunan terhadap anak juga tinggi. Jika anak stress dan tidak punya teman mengobrol, dia rentan depresi.<\/p>\n<p>Mengenai banyaknya selebriti yang mengalami depresi, Liza punya penjelasan. Kecerdasan intelektual dan segala properti fisik, ketika tidak diikuti kecerdasan emosional dan ada stress yang tidak bisa dikelola dengan baik, berpotensi menimbulkan depresi. \u201cLevel stres seseorang ibarat plafon rumah. Kalua plafonnya rendah, pengap rasanya. Kalua tinggi, lebih nyaman untuk bernapas,\u201d urai ibu empat anak itu. Sama halnya dengan kecerdasan intelektual, tinggi rendahnya \u201cplafon\u201d kecerdasan emosional merupakan hasil latihan sejak kecil.<\/p>\n<p>Terkadang tanpa sadar, orang tua tidak melatih kecerdasan emosi anak secara tepat. Liza mencontohkan, ketika anak punya masalah dengan teman di sekolah, orang tua datang ke sekolah marah-marah. \u201cHal itu tidak melatih <em>skill<\/em> anak dalam <em>problem solving<\/em> dan kemampuan negosiasi,\u201d ujarnya. Pada usia lebih dini, kemampuan anak menghadapi masalah bisa dilatih lewat hal-hal sederhana. Ketika si kecil terbentur meja, misalnya, ingatkan dia untuk berhati-hati. Bukan malah bereaksi menyalahkan si meja. \u201cIni melatih anak punya control internal, kemampuan mengambil kendali atas hidupnya,\u201d papar Liza.<\/p>\n<p>Terkait depresi yang menimpa selebriti popular, Liza berpesan kepada para penggemar untuk tetap memiliki kendali atas diri secara internal. Dengan demikian, mereka tetap bisa berpikir dengan logika.
