Penelitian  ini  dilakukan  berdasarkan  pada  latar  belakang   permasalahan yang ditemukan pada PaperInk. Peneliti melihat perbedaan antara   harga dan kualitas produk yang ditawarkan PaperInk dan kompetitor. Perbedaan   inilah  yang  nantinya  akan  menimbulkan  persepsi  konsumen.  Oleh  karena  itu,   dilakukan penelitian untuk melihat apa saja yang harus diteliti.   Tujuan  dari  penelitian  ini  adalah  untuk  mengetahui  apakah  yang   dipersepsikan konsumen dalam membeli produk PaperInk Printing &#038; Offset. Data   primer (kuisioner dan wawancara) dan data sekunder (data internal perusahaan)   digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Populasi yang digunakan sebesar 150 konsumen   dan  sampel  yang  digunakan  sebanyak  100  responden  berdasarkan  simple   random  sampling .  Partisipan  wawancara  sebanyak  4  orang  dari  setiap   karakteristik responden berdasarkan usia. Model penelitian adalah analisis faktor   eksploratori  dengan  alat  SPSS  15.  Hasil  penelitian  adalah  terbentuk  dua  faktor   baru  yaitu  faktor  perilaku  yang  direncanakan  dan  faktor  citra  diri.  Faktor  perilaku   yang  direncanakan  terdiri  dari  variabel  sikap, minat, harapan,  dan situasi.  Faktor   citra diri terdiri dari variabel motivasi dan  experience.
