Mereka menjalani proses transisi dalam lingkungan akademik dan sosial yang baru. Demi mendapatkan gelar sarjana, mereka menemui banyak tantangan dalam mencapai performa akademik yang optimal. Dalam era ini, standar perkuliahan dan kompetisi antar mahasiswa meningkat. Hal ini membuat mereka harus menyelesaikan tugas dalam waktu yang terbatas, yang dapat membuat mereka menjadi stres. Fenomena inilah yang menggerakkan <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ibu Meilani Sandjaja, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">untuk mengangkat topik mengenai Stres Akademik dalam kuliah tamunya bersama mahasiswa di University College Sedaya International (UCSI). Untuk kalian yang penasaran kuliah tamu yang diberikan beliau Kamis, 15 April 2021 lalu, artikel berikut bisa memberi gambaran besar sekaligus tips untuk mengatasi stres akademik kalian nih, simak terus ya!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Apa itu Stres Akademik?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stres merupakan hubungan antara individu dan lingkungannya, di mana individu tersebut mempersepsikan bahwa sumber daya yang ia miliki tidak dapat mengatasinya. Stres dapat terbagi menjadi 2:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eustress <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: stres yang berdampak positif, dan dapat memunculkan perasaan berenergi dan semangat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Distress<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> : stres yang berdampak negatif dan seringkali menimbulkan perasaan kecewa, terancam dan gagal.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stres akademik merupakan salah satu jenis stres yang muncul dari <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">setting <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">akademik seperti universitas. Stres akademik dapat muncul karena persepsi akan sebuah masalah, rasa frustrasi, bahkan antisipasi akan emosi negatif terhadap berbagai hal yang ada di lingkungan akademik. Tergantung dengan bagaimana individu mempersepsikannya dan juga sumber daya yang dimiliki, hal ini dapat menjadi <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eustress <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">distress<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Apa Penyebabnya?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penyebab dari stres dikenal dengan istilah <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stressor<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stressor <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ini dapat berasal dari faktor internal (di dalam diri) maupun eksternal (di luar diri). Terdapat 4 kategori dari konsekuensi yang dapat dialami seseorang, yaitu:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emotional <\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Kecemasan, depresi, tekanan psikologis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physiological<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Menurunnya kinerja sistem pencernaan, detak jantung meningkat<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cognitive<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Konsentrasi yang buruk, berkurangnya kapasitas memori jangka pendek<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behavioral<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Bertambahnya perilaku absen, terganggunya pola tidur, dan menurunnya performa akademik<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><b>Bagaimana Kita Bisa Mencegahnya?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mahasiswa menemui <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stressor <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dalam kehidupan perkuliahannya, namun persepsi akan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stressor <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tersebut dan cara mengatasinya dapat bervariasi. Cara mahasiswa mengatasi <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stressor <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tersebut disebut dengan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coping<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, di mana masing-masing punya cara yang berbeda untuk secara efektif menurunkan stres yang ia alami. Kamu bisa ikuti tips di bawah untuk mengatasi stres akademik:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Self-Management<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manajemen diri adalah kemampuan individu untuk mengontrol emosi dan impulsnya secara efektif dalam berbagai situasi. Dengan memanajemen diri, kamu bisa mengontrol dirimu dan berpegang pada rencanamu sebelumnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Time<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Management<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dapat memanajemen waktu dengan baik merupakan salah satu kunci untuk menghindari stres akademik lho! Mengatur prioritas juga merupakan elemen manajemen waktu yang penting, di mana tugas yang penting dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">urgent <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">didahulukan. Untuk menentukan prioritas, kamu bisa coba menggunakan Eisenhower Matrix seperti yang ada di bawah lho! Get<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ready for the Worst<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merencanakan skenario terburuk dapat membantumu melihat <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">resource <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">apa saja yang kamu butuhkan dan bersiap untuk kemungkinan terburuk sekalipun.
