Developing SPMI Documents, UC Quality Assurance Becomes Guest Speaker at UNISMA Faculty of Engineering Workshop

The Faculty of Engineering at the Islamic University of Malang (UNISMA) is conducting a Workshop on the Development of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) on February 10-11, 2025, at the Batusuki Hotel in Batu City. This event is a continuation of the SPMI Training Session previously held online on December 27, 2024. The workshop featured Ms. Lenny Rosita, S.T., M.MT., CRP., from Universitas Ciputra as the keynote speaker to share insights and strategies for improving higher education quality.

This workshop aims to strengthen the culture of quality at the Faculty of Engineering UNISMA, and ensure that all academic and non-academic processes are managed in accordance with applicable higher education quality standards. To that end, the Faculty of Engineering UNISMA, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the existing system to identify and analyze SPMI documents that could be developed, thereby continuing to improve the quality and relevance of educational services.

The Internal Quality Assurance System, referred to as IQAS, is a system of interrelated elements and processes that are organized in a structured way to ensure and improve the quality of higher education in universities autonomously. According to Permendikbudristek No. 53 Tahun 2023, the SPMI system must at least include:

  1. IQAS Policy
  2. Guidelines for the implementation, evaluation cycle, determination, control, and improvement of higher education standards in IQAS.
  3. Standards and/or criteria, norms, and quality references for the implementation of education and management of higher education institutions.
  4. Procedures for documenting the implementation of IQAS.

In this session, IQAS documents developed by the UNISMA Faculty of Engineering Team were discussed with guest speaker Lenny Rosita, S.T., M.MT., CRP., and facilitator Yohana L. M. K. W., S.T., M.MT., CIIQA., from Quality Assurance UC to provide input and suggestions for improvement.

Through this event, it is hoped that UC can share best practices and provide inspiration in SPMI document management, as well as enhance networking with other higher education in Indonesia.
