In the midst of the enthusiasm surrounding Valentine's Day celebrations, the UC Student Representative Board (SRB) held a training session about internal audit to strengthen understanding and skills in implementing internal audits for student organizations. SRB invited Ms. Deborah Giovanny, S.TP., CRP., as Vice Head, Quality Assurance and Ms. Yohana L. M. K. W., S.T., M.MT., CIIQA, as Quality System Section Head, to serve as speakers for this event.

In higher education institutions, internal audits are one of the evaluation activities in the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) cycle. Pursuant to Permendikbudristek No. 53 tahun 2023, the evaluation of compliance with higher education standards, as referred to in the IQAS cycle, is conducted on a regular basis through monitoring, self-evaluation, internal quality audits, assessments, and/or other methods determined by the higher education institution. Internal audit itself is a systematic, independent, and documented testing process to ensure that activities within an institution/organization are conducted in accordance with procedures and that the results align with standards to achieve the institution/organization's objectives.

UC has regularly and consistently conducted internal audits every year. Internal audit management at UC is carried out in coordination with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department. Therefore, SRB UC invites the Quality Assurance Department to provide guidance and share best practices for implementing internal audits that have been carried out at UC.

This training was attended by around 22 students from the SRB UC management and young members. The training began with the delivery of briefing material by the speakers and continued with group case studies on document auditing. The students were very enthusiastic and actively contributed to the training.

It is expected that the best practices shared by the QA Department will inspire improvements to the Student Organization system at UC.
