First, it is recommended to minimize the frequency of meetings, so that they are only held when necessary. The number of participants should also be limited, by only involving people who are responsible for the issues being discussed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Before the meeting, it is important to prepare an agenda and gather the necessary information, as well as check the minutes of meeting (MoM) from the previous meeting. The meeting should start with a clear sense of purpose. The meeting leader is also expected to lead with discipline, keeping the meeting on track, on time, and focused on the desired outcome. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Also, don't let participants takeover the meeting by changing the topic or prolonging the discussion unnecessarily. If the conversation starts to drift, stop it immediately and bring the focus back to the purpose of the meeting. Openness in discussion is highly encouraged, although it can sometimes spark debate, but it should remain focused on improving the quality of decision making. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At the end of the meeting, make sure there is an action plan formulated for each point discussed, and share the results with all participants for follow-up.
