UC Alumnus William Rayawan Makes Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2025 for Agri-Biotech Innovation

Universitas Ciputra Surabaya (UC) is proud to celebrate the achievement of William Rayawan, a graduate of the International Business Management program, Class of 2013, who has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2025 list. William was recognized in the Industry, Manufacturing & Energy category for his work as co-founder of Hyoshii Farm, an agri-biotech company addressing the challenges of tropical fruit cultivation in Indonesia.

Founded in 2021 by William and his brother James Rayawan, alongside their college friend Anthony Lee, Hyoshii Farm develops strawberry seeds specifically suited for Indonesia’s tropical climate. Their strawberries — marketed as comparable in sweetness to imported varieties but more cost-effective — are sold in premium supermarkets and distributed to bakeries and food service businesses across the country.

In addition to operating its own farm, Hyoshii engages directly with local farmers, supplying them with seeds and purchasing their harvests — building a collaborative ecosystem that supports both product quality and rural livelihoods. In March 2024, the company announced pre-seed funding to further develop its operations.

William’s recognition by Forbes is a significant milestone that reflects both entrepreneurial innovation and social impact — values deeply embedded in the educational approach at Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. His work exemplifies UC’s mission to produce graduates who not only build successful businesses, but also create meaningful contributions to society.
