
Laij Victor Effendi, S.E., M.M., CMA is an Assistant Professor at Universitas Ciputra Surabaya and currently serves as a Lecturer in the International Business Management – International Class study program. He joined Universitas Ciputra Surabaya in 2007 and has since been a key figure in shaping its academic and institutional development as the Vice Rector for Operational Affairs from Dec 2007 until May 2025. With a strong foundation in Organizational Behavior and Human Capital Management, Victor is also a core faculty member in the International Business Management (IBM) program, where he integrates real-world case studies and industry-driven insights into the classroom.
Victor’s academic contributions span a wide array of interdisciplinary topics, including family business succession and entrepreneurial orientation within family business. He is an active researcher and co-author of numerous journal articles in collaboration with both domestic and international scholars. His most recent publication explores the relationship between entrepreneurial passion and intention among students, produced in partnership with Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Beyond academia, Victor is deeply engaged in community development initiatives. He has led several university-backed outreach programs, most notably in Gisikcemandi, Sidoarjo, where he mentored local shellfish entrepreneurs and promoted women’s economic empowerment. He is also a strong proponent of sustainability efforts on and off campus, having represented Universitas Ciputra in eco-enzyme environmental campaigns in collaboration with the UI GreenMetric program.
In his administrative role, Victor oversees multiple operational functions including institutional partnerships, campus infrastructure, health and safety (K3L), and financial systems integration—most recently working on collaborations with Bank Jatim. His leadership bridges strategic planning with day-to-day execution, ensuring the university runs with both agility and accountability.
He is also the co-author of two academic books: Budaya Organisasi (2025) and Buku Ajar Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (2024), both of which are used as references across business faculties in Indonesia.
