February 23, 2025

jatim.jpnn.com, GRESIK – The Faculty of Medicine (FK) and Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Ciputra University held a Batsal (Mass Treatment) activity at Randegansari Village Hall, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency, Sunday (23/2).

The event, initiated by Dr. Denys Putra Alim, Sp.F.M., a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at Ciputra University (UCF), along with Drg. Eveline Yulia Darmadi, Sp.KG., a lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry at Ciputra University (UCF), aims to provide free healthcare and medical treatment to the community, particularly in preparation for Ramadan.

It also supports government programs related to free health check-ups and raises public awareness of the importance of health.

Involving doctors from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, alumni of the Faculty, and medical and dental students, the event demonstrates Ciputra University’s commitment to public health.

The Batsal program includes general health and dental check-ups for the community, mass medical treatment services, including medical consultations, and medication distribution.

Oral, ophthalmic, and topical medications for minor ailments are also provided.

“If a case requires further treatment, the patient will be referred to a hospital. Minor procedures, such as minor surgery, will be performed on-site,” said Dr. Denys.

The Batsal activity is expected to provide tangible benefits to the community by raising awareness of the importance of disease prevention and maintaining dental and oral health.

“Furthermore, for the participating students of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, this activity provides Early Clinical Exposure, allowing them to interact directly with patients under the guidance of alumni and supervision of lecturers,” he said.

As part of the annual agenda of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Ciputra University, this activity is targeted to serve 80 residents of Randegansari Village, Gresik.

Preparations for the event have been underway for three months and involve a series of steps, including field surveys, coordination with relevant parties, location mapping, and identification of endemic diseases to ensure the availability of necessary medications.

A resident of Randegansari, Wasiah (51), expressed her joy at participating in the Batsal activity. She received extensive guidance on managing her illness. “I’m happy to be able to get checked and receive free medication. I have diabetes, and I received medication and instructions on what to do during the fast. I also had my eyes checked,” she said. (mcr12/jpnn)
