The word “Zen” is the Japanese way of pronouncing the Chinies word “Chan” which turns out to be the Chinese way of pronouncing the Sanskrit word “Dhyana”, which translates as “meditation”. What is your Zen? Zen is total state of focus that combines the perfect balance between mind and body. Zen is a way of being’ seeing things without misrepresentation created by your own bias. In 2018, people are starting to adapt the Zen lifestyle. People have becoming more aware of having peace-of-mind in their daily lives.
Most of us are living in a fast-paced world, working from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day with loads of jobs that need to be done, getting used ti being stuck in a traffic jam from home to the office and vice versa, and when you reach home, all you want to do is just clean up and rest. For a few, they make time to relax in between those busy hours and enjoy the beauty of a sunset. In either case, it is possible to lose the propect if the simple insight in life and fall into several toutines that keep us from achieving harmony. Here are 5 tips you can act upon to make your way of life into a zen lifestyle.
- Stay positive and do not allow any negative energy inside of you. Self pity or balming yourself will not raise your mood. Let’s say that you are experiencing an unhappy day at work or in your persoanl life;do not let it take over your day and just simply accept iy, feel it, and move on. Instead of blaming, ask yourself peacefully, “What lesson can be learned here?” It will be way healthier if you also add yoga into your daliy routine. This exercise will help you to meditate and better your mind and body.
- Start appreciating people and things around you. Everyone and everything is connected; emphatize with other people and realize that you are not the only one who is stressed and having a bad day; be grateful of what you have and take time to truly cherish the world around you, appreciating small things that come to you.
- Re-decirate your home with earthy colors such as white, grey, shades of beige, and add more plants to get the sense of relaxation and calmness. Use wooden flooring or parquet and place sftness under your feet. Make a room in your own time to relax with a Zen style decoration like simple and clear lines; try avoiding complicated detail and excess ornamentation.
- Surround yourself with natural scents. Whether what you put on your body, home, odor spray, on your working table, or in your car, enchance scents like lavender, jasmine, orange blossom, rosewood, patchouli, amber, musk, sandalwood, and sage. Those scents are really calimng and helping you to feel at peace.
5 Accept who you are by not worrying too much about what other people think of you. A lot of people try so hard to fit in by becoming something that they are not or sacrificing good morals just in order to be accepted by the group. Instead, realize what makes you happy bu being comfortable in your own skin.
There are a lot of simple steps you can endeavor to create a Zen lifestyle. These five are not the only ways, but you can start from implementing these five steps into your lives. Be change. Like Socrates once said, “Wisdom is doing it.”
