In an attempt to improve the quality of higher education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar conducted benchmarking with Universitas Ciputra, particularly in the management of Study Program Outside Main Campus (PSDKU). Universitas Ciputra campus in Makassar is known for its innovation and modern approach in managing programs that are relevant to industry needs. This benchmarking study was conducted online via Zoom and attended by representatives from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, including Dr. Burhanuddin, M.Sci, as Vice Rector 1, Prof. Dr. Andi Sukri Syamsuri, M.Hum, as Vice Rector 2, and the PSDKU team from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The delegation was received by Universitas Ciputra (Makassar City Campus), including Dr. Ir. Tony Antonio, M.Eng., as Academic Campus Director, Ms. Melissa Christina, S.T., M.M., as Operational Campus Director, and colleagues from the main campus of Universitas Ciputra.

The presentation on PSDKU delivered by Universitas Ciputra received a positive response from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. During the presentation, Universitas Ciputra explained various important aspects related to the implementation of PSDKU, such as the PSDKU curriculum following the main campus standards with local adjustments without compromising graduate competencies, while human resources and infrastructure are tailored to the specific needs of each PSDKU. The management of PSDKU involves coordination between the main campus and PSDKU, with permits and accreditation in accordance with Dikti regulations and local government guidelines. The question-and-answer session then proceeded dynamically, with representatives from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar asking questions about strategies to address infrastructure challenges and technology access in remote areas. The discussion enriched the insights of both universities in designing practical solutions to enhance the effectiveness of PSDKU, as well as optimizing academic programs to reach more prospective students across various regions.

Through the study visit of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar to Universitas Ciputra (Makassar campus), it is hoped that UC can share best practices and provide inspiration in the management of PSDKU implementation, as well as make a positive contribution to the implementation of PSDKU at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar can gain insights and strategies to optimize PSDKU, thereby producing graduates who are ready to compete in the global market.
